Since last Friday, I haven't had much rest or free time to get my personal work done.

Friday- Working with Ministry of Sound.
Saturday- Bar Shift at Revolution.
Sunday- 12 Hour shift for Alex Kingham's film Kart.
Monday- Bar Shift at Revolution.
Tuesday- Today- 11 Hour shifts each day for Kart Film.
Tomorrow...Well tomorrow...I get a nice lye in bed...then off at 8pm for a shoot that finishes between 5-6am. Hopefully working late nights has taught me something but I know the weekend is going to kill me...4 shifts back to back at Revolution.

Seriously cant wait to start shooting my own film as doing sound on Kart has been great fun. It really makes me want to teach sound even more and hopefully by September I will be doing craft sessions and demonstrating the techniques and creative effects that can be done with sound recording equipment and protools...you really do have to think how you can edit it and how it will work in post.

From what I have learnt...if your a good sound recorder...You know the microphone positions, techniques, log the files but also know if your sound isn't great or if you can gain files for Foley which makes the post-production pr

As I have decided to shoot a week after the designated "shoot period" due to the availability of the shoot studio, I have started experimentation within final cut pro to prepare myself for the hard work that is to come.

Advanced techniques like key framing seems simple enough but...

RENDERING TAKES FOREVER...an Editors bane...but its something that has to be done.

Time to get back to work, but I am really excited about getting the shoot and interview sorted as then the film will have its main body!

Step outline- Check.
Script writing in progress- Check.
Coffee supplies- Danger- Running Low!

Today I have been taking time with the paperwork for this company setting up International Relations who would want work done for them which is great! we are expanding our borders!!

To finish my degree, I also need to get this film script sorted as it will power the narrative. I have just been looking through all the research and Pre-Interview transcripts and its looking good.

The first script won't be all singing and all dancing but every writer has to start somewhere right? But anyway, by the end of today I should have at least 2 pages done... that's the minimum before I can take some time off tonight anyway!

Things are slowly shaping up! Which is nice to see!!!

For we are Legion- For we stand as one.

I now have a graphics designer and composer on board!

In terms of sound track, I currently have the idea of using quite a simple, urban beat that will underline the sound design and compliment the vocal audio. I believe that soldiers are true heroes ..however they are still human. So the track won't have anything "Epic" behind it as I want it to reflect how human soldiers actually are and this will allow the interview to be more believable and more "down to Earth" as it is based on primary data from interviews I have conducted with soldiers that are currently serving.

As we have access to a LOT of Stock footage and images, I am also utilizing a graphics designer to create some images that will move and will expand the visual borders by implementing maps, animations and layered moving images.

The visuals will help narrate the Journal of a Soldier and explain what is meant by what is being said in the Audio- Therefore it works hand in hand.

I will continue to work hard on this project however I guess I am concerned with what grade I will get as it seems other student are investing a lot more money into their projects which may also include set building. However, I want to prove to myself and the course that you don't necessary need to spend lots of hard earned money to get a good mark.

I shall update this space tomorrow about the what is currently happening with the production label and where it currently stands as it is part of my Design Futures Module at University.

Signing off.

GREAT NEWS!

Thanks to Bottledvideo.com, I have been granted access to A LOT of stock footage I can now use for my film after hours of hunting and many emails.

ITS FINALLY SHAPING UP!

However the film has changed- its going down a more of a documentary route as it would provide a much stronger story and not cheat the audience- That is what I aim for- Get into the grit of things.

So now we will follow the story of soldier from why he wanted to join, stories of Iraq and see the reality of it from his perspective.

To protect the contributors, a Script is currently being written and will compile a general consensus from primary data. These are real stories- its amazing what soldiers face and what they do. Not enough credit is given to our troops and I want to make the audience aware and appreciate what the lads do for us!!

Anyway, Signing off again...Time to update the website!

During University, I spent a lot of my time in the sound studios generating sounds, making music etc.

Now...I leave Media (Film) Production and go on to do a Masters which might mean I might not have access to this great piece of kit.

So, With the money I will receive from doing sets at the LRV, it will be partially invested into building a basic set up involving:

2x Studio Speakers,
A Midi Keyboard
A Computer that can run programs...Maybe an Imac, Maybe a Desktop PC.

And a Lovely desk to put it all on.

This will be the start up of the company and for part of my degree, I will have to write a 10 year plan for myself and getting this production label running.

I will be using my current contacts to record singers and bands and eventually enter the Film Industry with a great C.V. and advanced skills for Sound Design.

Project Completion:

Kit- April 15th.
Studio- July- When I move into the new house and set up the spare room with relevant kit.

This is after being inspired by a good friend who also runs a well established company known as Lenzflare and hopefully one day...in ten years time, this company will be in the same stage he is after their recent 10 yea

So here is just a quick blog post about the upcoming project which is due to be released in May 2013.

I am currently looking to produce a short film that portrays the human nature behind warfare.
A lot of people consider soldiers to be mechanical...but they are still human regardless. They still experience fear and happiness.

So, to start, there will be several interviews conducted from soldiers which will then be transcribed and converted into a script for one soldier. This is where the drama element comes into play as it would be as if he is being interviewed by a Journalist.

It may be similar to "Interview with a Vampire" however it is the only way it could possibly work without compromising my contributors and gives me flexibility in terms of scripts.

This is just a short up date to get the ball rolling with the blog by it should be updated at le
